The option of video conference based counselling is a convenient alternative to "in-person" counselling. We use Skype, Zoom, Whatsapp Video or iPhone Facetime Genetic counseling delivered via video conference is a covenient method which is considered to compare favorably with the outcomes achieved in traditional in-person consultations. The video-conference option allows for individual one-on-one video consultation sessions. It also allows for multiple parties to join the same session from any location, local or overseas. This type of session allows for the inclusion of other participants in the consultation session, for example, the referring doctor, other relevant medical practitioners, or family members who may reside in another location, locally or overseas. The only requirement for the patient is a computer with an updated browser and a relatively good internet connection. It is also possible to conduct the counselling session using a mobile smartphone or tablet. NOTE : It is preferable to have a connection to a Wi-Fi service - to avoid high data costs, in those instances where you may not have an unlimited mobile data plan.
